The RHYNO Story
ORIGIN
RHYNO began its origins in the deserts of California when founder, Rico Adams began training for the United States Army in the late 1990s.
The RHYNO design was founded on the credo his squad embodied: let no one down.
Dedicated to his craft, Rico taught himself how to repair and assemble automatic watches. In 2013, Rico Adams launched RHYNO timepieces while working as a civilian avionics’ technician in San Antonio, TX. Combining his passion for aviation and watches, he was able to create the Rubicon (meaning point of no return) This model symbolized what this meant for him as a watch designer.
As sales and notoriety increased, the need for new skills and technology emerged, leading him to join forces with a small, dedicated team in Switzerland. RHYNO combines mechanical precision with cutting edge carbon composites. Rico Adams is on a mission: to continue to create luxury timepieces that represent rugged luxury for the wrist.
“I have always liked big timepieces, I’m sure you can tell by now, but this year I’m opening my canvas to smaller. Not just smaller but rugged, durable, and luxurious. I think that describes RHYNOs in a nutshell, Rugged, Durable, & Luxurious. Even when I design our smaller pieces, wrist presence is very important to me. ”
Natural Progression
Art came easy for Rico as a child and continued as a young adult. What better way to express those desires than to make jewelry, timeless jewelry. It takes time to build an amazing timepiece and even more time to create an amazing brand. He looks to push the bar higher and higher with exotic materials and high horology Swiss movements.
